Here's Ben in Michigan with his favorite person.. He just loved Jodie.
The parade on the 4th is starting and he is ready.. He is telling me O pictures GranAnnie.. There are times he doesn't want me to take his picture. But after I take the picture he says "Let me look"..smiles and then it's O.K.. Isn't that the way it always is with family.. They don't want to get together for a picture and then afterwards they want to see the picture..
Here he is trying to catch a minnow with his net.. He was successful and was so excited.. Later in the day he caught this little minnow.. He had it so close to his face we thought he was going to eat it.. I love this picture. It just captures the moment..he was so happy and delighted with himself.
Today is Saturday and it was so Hot and humid.. I went to Carlson Massage School this morning and Tracie gave me a massage . I'm a little tender in the left shoulder/neck area.. I've been drinking lots of water. I'm sure tomorrow it will be better. She really gives a good massage, she has great pressure and gets right down to loosening up those muscles.
After leaving the massage school I went to Hy-Vee grocery store and picked up Dave's drug.. Goodness to be he takes some really expensive drugs.. No $4 one today.. more like $80... It's cost money to stay alive..
I then went to the library and picked up the book I had on hold.. I read Shanghi Girls and that was a wonderful book... Today I picked up Sunflower and the Secret Fan.. Lisa See writes these books and they are really good. She has a new one called Dreams of Joy ~ I'm 10th on the waiting list.. Might be awhile before I get to that one. I can only get one book at a time when I go to the library.. I don't buy books anymore, it's just cheaper to get them from the library.
I went to Walgreens to the photo department.. Did you know if you set up an online account with them http://www.walgreen.com/ you can download your pictures onto your computer and then send them to your nearest walgreens and that day or the next day they will be ready to be picked up..? I don't get prints anymore, Now I have a CD made with the index card and bring it home and put it in a filing system I have made.. You can also pick out pictures that you would like friends or family to have and sent them via your online walgreen account to the nearest walgreens in your friends or family's town... How about that.. I think that is so cool. Then all they have to do is pick up what you have sent at their walgreens store.. Technology is a wonderful thing.. Service with a smile~!
On the way home I stopped at Aldi's...I have decided with their prices our grocery bill is going to be lowered.. We have always used Chairman toilet paper.. I picked up 18 rolls today for $6.. not chairman but who cares ~ it's soft and it works.. I bought all my groceries for the week there.. according to Jodie, if you don't like something you have bought there save your receipt and take it back and they give you our money back... O.K. I'll give it a try.
I stopped at McDonald's on the way out of town and got me a vanilla ice cream cone.. It's a treat~! and it tastes good.
This evening I watered my garden. My flower garden and vegetable garden was wilting big time.. We have not gotten any rain for over a week.. So this evening I dragged the hoses out to the gardens and let the sprinklers whizz around and around for 1/2 hour for each garden.. Flower and vegetable. In the morning they should look so much better. Guess if we don't get rain I'll have to do this every couple days.. Glad I don't live in Georgia where they have a big time water shortage.
Church in the morning. Once every year our church has church in the park..plus baptism.. and a potluck to follow.. Jackie the gal that Holly and I adopted for a couple months is getting baptised tomorrow.. We are so excited for her. Then I'll be driving to Stockton, Illinois to meet Rich ~ it's that time of year when his kids like to come to the farm and spend a week.. Kelly is first, she is 12 years old then Emily and her friend Elizabeth Orr will be coming next, Emily is 10.. John age 14 has decided to come this year so the last week in July will be his turn. I'm going to have a MaryKay girl give Kelly a facial and show her how to put on makeup and take care of her face... I reserved Emily and Eorr to go to a horse camp...they are excited about that. Not sure what I'll get planned for John but I'll do something special for him.. I love it when they come to the farm for a week and so do they..
Have a Blessed Day ~ ta ta for now from Iowa:)
